MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — A Vermont spiritual college that withdrew its women’ basketball staff from a playoff recreation as a result of a transgender scholar was enjoying on the opposing staff will not be capable of take part in future tournaments, the Vermont Principals’ Affiliation introduced Monday.

Mid Vermont Christian Faculty, in White River Junction, Vermont, forfeited the Feb. 21 recreation, saying that it believed that the transgender participant “jeopardizes the equity of the sport and the security of our gamers.”

The chief council of the principals’ affiliation, which is the governing physique for Vermont college sports activities and actions for member faculties, dominated that the varsity had violated insurance policies and is ineligible to take part in future tournaments that it sanctions. The transfer applies to all sports activities.
